This quarry provided 18,630 tons of stone to construct the Empire State Building.
Two views: one with strange sea-like vegetation just below the surface of the still water, the other with a figure at the edge, never could decide which was better.
As I’m formalizing a multi-year project working on public land, I reflect back on “These Grand Places”, first exhibited in 2012, made on 4x5 film, often at dusk or dawn. The current project carries the same name.
